Posted Dec 7, 2003 08:22 AM PST A problem for the official story that the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was a complete surprise was the report by USS Ward that it had sighted and fired upon a midget submarine trying to sneak into Pearl Harbor one hour and fifteen minutes ahead of the air attack. The official story is that since the report wasn't confirmed by other than the Ward's crew, the Pearl Harbor military command was justified in NOT sounding any alarms. While the account of the USS Ward sailors has gradually become accepted as fact in the public mind, the official status of the reported sighting was still "unconfirmed", and defenders of the Pearl Harbor myth continued to suggest that the USS Ward hadn't really seen anything at all. Until a chance discovery on August 28, 2002 vindicated the crew of the USS Ward and proved that the Hawaii military command had a clear and obvious warning of the Japanese attack 1 1/4 hours before the first airplane showed up. http://www.usni.org/navalhistory/Articles99/NHborgquist.htm Pearl Harbor Advance Warning? Red Cross records prove it! Posted Dec 7, 2003 10:01 AM PST Families of the Pearl Harbor commanders have been championing the theory that official Washingon knew when and where the 1941 Japanese attack would occur. Evidence of secret medical shipments prior to the attack is lending credence to it. This decoded memo, from one week before the attack on Pearl Harbor, and one week AFTER Yamamoto's message, proves that the US had broken and was reading the radio traffic using this code. http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/McCollum/ http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/McCollum/index.html?q=McCollum/index.html The McCollum memo. The smoking gun that proves FDR knew of and intentionally goaded the Japanese into the attack on Pearl harbor. On October 7, 1940, Lieutenant Commander Arthur McCollum of the Office of Naval Intelligence submitted a memo to Navy Captains Walter Anderson and Dudley Knox (whose endorsement is included in the following scans). Captains Anderson and Knox were two of President Roosevelt's most trusted military advisors. The memo, scanned below, detailed an 8 step plan to provoke Japan into attacking the United States. President Roosevelt, over the course of 1941, implemented all 8 of the recommendations contained in the McCollum memo. Following the eighth provocation, Japan attacked. The public was told that it was a complete surprise, an "intelligence failure", and America entered World War Two. The official story is that the Japanese attack fleet steaming to Pearl Harbor maintained radio silence. This is a lie, as not only the NSA has admitted to keeping the intercepts from the fleet as it sailed eastward, but the Japanese transmitters were so powerful that even the passenger ship SS Lurline was able to plot the Japanese course and report it to the ONI on December 4th. Near my home can be seen the remains of Station "H", the US listening post that intercepted Yamamoto's order to the fleet to sail "...into Hawaiian waters, and upon the very opening of hostilities shall attack the main force of the United States fleet in Hawaii and deal it a mortal blow". Documents declassified in 1994 confirm that this message was intercepted at Station "H", decoded at Station "HYPO" (Pearl harbor), and forwarded to the White House, but withheld from Admiral Kimmel and General Short. http://www.independent.org/newsroom/article.asp?id=408 Do Freedom of Information Act Files Prove FDR Had Foreknowledge of Pearl Harbor? On November 25, 1941 Japan’s Admiral Yamamoto sent a radio message to the group of Japanese warships that would attack Pearl Harbor on December 7. Newly released naval records prove that from November 17 to 25 the United States Navy intercepted eighty-three messages that Yamamoto sent to his carriers. Part of the November 25 message read: “…the task force, keeping its movements strictly secret and maintaining close guard against submarines and aircraft, shall advance into Hawaiian waters, and upon the very opening of hostilities shall attack the main force of the United States fleet in Hawaii and deal it a mortal blow…” I'd say that makes it a solid "yes". http://www.btinternet.com/~nlpwessex/Documents/pearlharbor.htm President Roosevelt Had Foreknowledge Of Pearl Harbor And Let It Happen In Order To Take US Into WWII http://rense.com/general69/advance.htm Hartford Van Dyke - The Truth About Pearl Harbor Several top US military personel placed under armed guard in hours before attack, to prevent them passing warnings on to US forces in Pearl. http://rense.com/general72/jee.htm Japan Tried To Surrender After Midway Defeat http://www.ihr.org/jhr/v04/v04p388_Stimely.html Pearl Harbor: The Latest Wave Joseph Leib, a former New Deal bureaucrat and retired newspaper correspondent, wrote an article which appeared in Hustler magazine, "Pearl Harbor: The Story the Rest of the Media Won't Tell," in which he claimed that his friend, Secretary of State Hull, had confided to him on 29 November 1941 that J. Edgar Hoover and FDR knew that the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbor withing a few days, and that the President, over Hull's strident objections, was going to let this happen as a way to get the country into war. Hull's dilemma was that he could not reveal this openly to the press, since the White House would simply denounce him, and no one would believe him. He turned over to Lieb a document containing a transcript of Japanese radio intercepts which supposedly detailed the Pearl Harbor plan, making the reporter promise never to reveal the source. Leib rushed the story, minus the identification of Hull, to the United Press bureau, which refused to run it since it was so incredulous. But Leib did manage to persuade UP's cable editor, Harry Frantz, to transmit it on the foreign cable. Although the story managed somehow to get garbled in transmission, it did create a front-page banner headline in the Sunday, 30 November, Honolulu Advertiser: JAPANESE MAY STRIKE OVER WEEKEND! Thus Leib, writing in 1983, has finally cleared up the mystery of the origins of that headline, which has always been a particularly curious part of the Pearl Harbor puzzle. I called the HILO, HAWAII library and they photocopied the top half of their front page and sent it to me. The HEADLINE of this newspaper reads: JAPAN MAY STRIKE OVER WEEKEND meaning the following weekend, Saturday, December 6th and Sunday, December 7th, 1941. In the early years after the devastating attack on Pearl Harbor, through one utterly phony “investigation” after another, Roosevelt’s Socialist idolaters swore up and down that he had known absolutely nothing about it. The possibilities that he knew it was coming and did nothing, or, even worse, that he conspired to arrange it, were labeled psychotic fantasies only a psychiatrist could call serious. All these years later, however, so much slime has oozed forth that Roosevelt worshippers now stand up to their eyeballs in it. They can’t deny it. So, now they take a totally different position, a diametrically different position. Now they say, yes, Roosevelt knew about it, he even arranged it, because the American people at the time were too dumb to know they needed to be in the war – they needed a big enough shock to trick them into it – so Roosevelt arranged it for our own good. A reader sent in this photo, taken at the Military Heritage & Aviation Museum in Punta Gorda, Florida. In his lilting, sing-song cadence, Roosevelt called the grieving nation to arms. He labeled December 7, 1941, as "a date which will live in infamy." His words were so carefully crafted and eloquent, it was difficult to believe he had managed to compose them in the haste and confusion following the attack. In fact, the treachery of our nation's leader rivaled that of the Japanese. Roosevelt had labored on the speech for days. He knew well in advance that the Japanese were planning a sneak attack. He knew to the day, almost to the hour, when the assault on Pearl Harbor would begin. December 7, 1941, held no surprises for Roosevelt, nor for me. For nearly 50 years, the world has believed President Franklin D. Roosevelt's declaration that the Pearl Harbor attack was a completely unexpected assault on a neutral nation. Sacrifice at Pearl Harbor tells another, hidden story - using actual recording of intercepted diplomatic communications, declassified government documents, archival footage and interviews with diplomats and spies from around the world. We now know that intelligence operatives from the US and three Allied nations monitored the Japanese fleet's progress on its deadly mission to Oahu in late 1941. Yet neither Admiral Kimmell nor General Short received a word of warning that might have allowed them to avert the sacrifice of 4,000 American casualties in less than 90 minutes. 20091221 http://www.americanheritage.com/articles/magazine/ah/1987/8/1987_8_64.shtml THE BIG LEAK by Thomas Fleming Blazoned in huge black letters across page one of the December 4, 1941, issue of the Chicago Tribune was the headline: F.D.R.’S WAR PLANS! The Times Herald, the Tribune’s Washington, D.C., ally, carried a similarly fevered banner. In both papers Chesly Manly, the Tribunes Washington correspondent, revealed what President Franklin D. Roosevelt had repeatedly denied: that he was planning to lead the United States into war against Germany. The source of the reporter’s information was no less than a verbatim copy of Rainbow Five, the top-secret war plan drawn up at FDR’s order by the Joint Board of the Army and Navy. http://engforum.pravda.ru/showthread.php?t=274898 http://www.eutimes.net/2010/01/why-germany-really-lost-world-war-ii/ Why Germany really lost World War II GKD: About the strategic importance of fuel and oil supplies in war. ----posted at eutimes Fascinating. My only criticism of the article is that it omits what is now known about the initiation of war in the Pacific. That the USA leadership desired a Japanese 'surprise' attack, with a large US initial loss, in order to enrage US public opinion and enable US entry into the war in Europe. That Pearl Harbor was effectively a set-up, and the FDR government knew of the attack time at least a week beforehand. Ref 'The McCollum memo', etc. Very intriguing detail in this article, that the Japanese attack on Peal deliberately omitted to destroy the US's sole Pacific fuel depot. Hmmm.... Lets hope no one ever invents fusion powered warcraft. There’d be no end to wars then. ----------------
